The Newfane Garden Club has made a commitment to educating others about gardening, beautifying the Newfane community through the maintainence of gardens located at public buildings and bringing the joy of flowers to hospital patients. Our projects reflect this commitment. The dates of these projects are listed in the Calendar. All members are encouraged to participate in at least one project per year. The Newfane Garden Club is committed to maintain the following gardens. Maintenance includes weeding, planting, mulching and care of plants. All members are welcome to help.

Annual Plant and Bake Sale
This event provides funds for scholarships, maintaining public gardens, meeting presenters, participation in the Federated Garden Clubs of Vermont meetings, and other approved projects. Members bake and donate their perennials for sale on the Newfane Common on Memorial Day weekend.
Note Card Sales
Blank notes cards with photos of gardens and flowers submitted by members are for sale at a reasonable price of $2.25 each and $4.00 for two cards. You can view and select the card photos on the Photo Album page. To purchase these cards, send your order and a check for the amount due to:

Junior Environmental Poster Contest (Smokey Bear/ Woodsey Owl). Students at the Newbrook Elementary School submit posters promoting the prevention of forest fires and environmental polution of VT rivers and streams. The posters are judged and winners receive a state and national recognition and prizes.
Vermont State and National Arbor Day program with 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades at the Newbrook Elementary School hear information about the importance of sustaining our forests and are given a sapling for planting.
